Comprehensive - Holistic Family Services

FCF Head Start incorporates comprehensive services for the entire family. Each family that receives services has a Family Advocate that works with the family.

Services Include:

• Each family working with a Family Advocate gets a minimum of four home visits per year;
• Parent learning opportunities and trainings (parenting classes, nutrition classes), health information/education, assistance in furthering education, and information on community resources;
• Referrals to community resources and services;
• Transition planning help as your child enters or prepares to leave FCF;
• Supporting families through a goal setting process.

FCF is dedicated to the principle that parents are the single most important part of the Head Start community. Parents make important contributions of ideas, time, and commitment to FCF. Together we cultivate healthy, active involvement in our communities and share in the diversity of family values and culture. We understand that self-confidence enables families to achieve personal goals as they transition from Head Start.

Parents at FCF:

• Serve on parent committees and Policy Council;
• Volunteer and share their talents in the classroom;
• Help with interviewing staff;
• Help coordinate and participate in activities in which they have an interest;
• Assist with fatherhood activities and other activities throughout the organization;
• Apply for employment opportunities within the organization.
