MENTAL HEALTH AND DISABILITY SERVICES

Let Us Help You Get the Services You Need

The FCF mental health and disabilities program approach is a comprehensive, strength-based, family-centered design; mental health is a part of all program components. Services are based on a holistic, wellness-focused vision that guides the day-to-day interactions with children, families and staff, while addressing the needs of young children and their families who may be at risk of emotional, behavioral or mental disorders.

Services Include:

  • Supporting all children’s positive social and emotional development by using a curriculum that fosters the social and emotional development of every child;
  • Individualized screening of children to determine developmental needs;
  • Building relationships and learning environments that support each child and family to reach their individual and unique potential;
  • Working closely with parents to address the social-emotional and disability needs of their family;
  • Meeting the needs of children with more extensive or serious behavioral or emotional problems through Child Success Teams where parents and staff work together, creating a well thought out plan that allows each child to find success and fulfillment in their Head Start classroom;
  • Transition planning help as their child enters or prepares to leave FCF;
  • Provide referrals to the local school districts;
  • Provide referrals to community mental health professionals.
